Recovery of data from repartitioned Mac OS X hard drive
Mac OS X system come equipped with a tool known as disk utility, whose function is to perform disk related operations. Hard drive mounting, verifying disk integrity, formatting & partitioning, enable/disable journaling, disk image creation are its utility that definitely tells about its importance, still it has been found to be not working the right way in several cases.
As for example, disk utility may behave unexpectedly in Mac OS X 10.5 leopard when hard drive volume is formatted, changed or deleted. It may arise the need of using mac recovery solutions. It is because when you try to modify, format or remove Mac OS X volume, error message as “file system formatter failed” may be generated and it usually happens while trying to change file system of volume. However the issue may be due to-
- Incompatibility of Mac OS X leopard disk utility with disk partitioning scheme used by leopard
- Corruption of partition table
- Failure of disk utility to change or format volume of Mac OS X
After this the hard drive volume becomes inaccessible also the important data stored there in cannot be accessed and this causes serious data loss.
-
For fixing out this issue disk has to be repartitioned, with disk utility in the following way-
- Open disk utility, disk to be partitioned has to be selected and then partition tab is clicked
- Select partition number from drop down list
- From options select partition type, also set the partition size required and then click on partition
This resolves the problem, but as you know this is going to delete volume and erase the data present in the drive. In order to recover data from partition and get these files back, data recovery mac is done, by extensively scanning the system with its complex advanced algorithms. Such that lost, missing and inaccessible partitions’ including data is recovered in a safe and easy manner.
