Fix Invalid Node Structure error in Mac OS X
HFS plus or HFS+ is one of the most common file systems which is used in MAC OS. This file system is basically made of various components and catalog files amongst which catalog file plays a vital role. Catalog file which is a B-tree contains the record of all files and directories. There are four types of node which is used in B-tree viz. Index, header, Leaf and Map node. Header node contains the reference of all other nodes but sometime this node also gets corrupted and as a result you have to face data loss problem. In this situation you will definitely look for data recovery software to get back all important data.
DLet’s suppose you had used disk utility tool of the Mac system to check the integrity and consistency of HFS+ file system. When you are using this utility tool then suddenly some error message appears on the screen like:
“Invalid Node structure”
This is most common error for Mac users. Before going to fix this problem it is very essential to know all about this error. Node structure has three important components including node description, list of record and list of record offset. If the structure of node gets damaged then it will corrupt the node and lead into data loss problem. There are several reasons which corrupt the node structures like viruses, partition table corruption, cluster configuration file on a node gets corrupted, volume header corruption and so on. Whatever the reasons of corruption are, the fact is that you have to face a lot of critical problem because of node structure corruption. File system not recognize the volume and generate “Invalid Node structure” error on the system.
In order to fix Invalid Node structure error you have to start your system in single user mode and thereafter run disk utility tool. This tool will repair the damaged tree and sort out this problem. But if this step fails then one other option is that re-install the Mac OS X to replace damaged volume but after performing this step you will lose all the important files from the system and generate a serious data loss problem.
If the backup of important files are not available or it gets corrupted then in that particular situation you can try Mac file recovery software. This software will retrieve all the important files very easily. Because of non destructive and read only conduct, it is completely safe.
